THE ROLE

 

You will be carrying out Traffic, Street Lighting, and Technology Installation works and is at the forefront of onsite delivery. You will be required to work safely and to a high quality. Showing a high level of understanding of working upon high-speed roads, traffic signs, highway lighting and/or highway technology, associated civil works. Whilst you will work on predominantly technology works you will be cross-trained to ensure you can be involved in all types of civil activities as required.

 

The Podington depot will be your “base”, but the role will require you to be based on National sites for works carried out.

 

A typical week might involve


  • Installing and commissioning motorway communication equipment to Highways Agency standards (MCX suite of drawings)
  • Installing Traffic Signals Equipment in line with design and TR2500 specifications
  • Performing electrical tests to BS7671 and digitally completing all relevant documentation and commissioning sheets as per MSF processes
  • Conducting Cable locating using cable detection equipment
  • Work with MSF Civils team in the delivery of the works
  • Able to undertake manual work including manual trenching cable laying etc.
  • Ensure all installations are completed to the correct standard, delivered on time, and to budget.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety as per company policies/procedures
    • Ensure all works are completed as per MSF QEHS policies and procedures
    • Report and QEHS issues to supervisor and via Eyes and Ears App

As a growing Business stream within MSF, the NIO will be instrumental in formulating delivery plans and processes.

 

Qualifications


  • C+G 2382 or equivalent
  • G39 qualified
  • National Highways Sector Scheme 8 accredited
  • B/TEC Ordinary National Certificate in electronics/telecommunications engineering (or equivalent qualification) OR be able to demonstrate proven work experience and therefore extensive knowledge and competence working on motorway communications, traffic signal, or closely related equipment/systems.

  • Is PC literate to a basic level in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
